AUDITION INFORMATION

Please submit a digital audition recording by Monday, February 23rd to info@spotlightrepnw.org with "SJE Vocals Auditionin the subject line.

  • Choose two contrasting songs from the standard jazz or musical theater repertoire (with at least one verse and one chorus of each song.) If you have questions about repertoire, please contact us at info@spotlightrepnw.org
  • Clearly state your name, age, and the pieces that you are going to perform.
  • Each piece should be no longer than 3 minutes.
  • Pick material that allows you to showcase your vocal versatility and your ability to sing across your vocal range.
  • You may either have a live accompanist or use a recorded accompaniment track. No a cappella singing.
  • Please make sure your voice can be heard above the accompaniment – try different distances from the sound source until you find the correct balance between accompaniment and voice.

SJE is proud to deliver high-caliber sessions that are pivotal to elevating your advanced jazz experience. Our mission is to support performers with quality programming led by premier jazz artists who are compensated with fair living wages.

SJE Vocals 2026 Season Details

  • Season: March 2–May 9, 2026
  • 10 classes
  • At least three performance opportunities during the season
  • Additional Sammamish Farmers Market performances summer 2026
  • Tuition: $900 per person (due before the first class) - If there is any issue with this, please let us know.

Refunds & Inclement Weather Policies

  • Non-refundable tuition: Please note that all tuition payments are non-refundable.
  • Weather-related cancellations: If bad weather forces a cancellation, we will make every effort to schedule a make-up class. However, we cannot guarantee a make-up due to limited availability of rehearsal venues.
